Make a Complaint/Report Concerns relating to Vehicle Roadworthiness, Drivers Hours, Tachographs and/or Unlicensed Haulage

If you have any concerns about the roadworthiness condition of a commercial vehicle for e.g. School Bus, Truck, Trailer or indeed any other type of commercial vehicle you can report your concerns in confidence to the RSA in any of the following ways

  • By phone – You can speak to one of our staff on 091 872600 (enforcement section) or call our lo-call confidential hotline on 091 872 647.
  • In Person – Call into our office, Clonfert House, Bride Street, Loughrea, Co Galway H62 ET93.  Where you can speak to one of our staff in the strictest confidence
  • In Writing – Post your complaint to Enforcement Section, Road Safety Authority, Clonfert House, Bride Street, Loughrea, Co Galway. H62 ET93
  • By email – Complete a complaint form (DOC)​ and submit to enforcement@rsa.ie
  • Online - make a complaint online​​ via  the RSA website.​

Questions about your test

If you have any questions about your CVR test, you need to contact your test centre. Find the contact details of your preferred test centre​

If you are dissatisfied with the result of a test

You must submit a complaint in writing to the test centre where the vehicle was tested. The complaint shall state the following:

  • your name, address and contact details;
  • the vehicle registration number and the date the vehicle was tested; and
  • your complaint

You should receive a written acknowledgement of the receipt of your complaint from the test centre within three working days of the receipt of the complaint. You should receive a response to your complaint within 14 working days.

If you think your Commercial Vehicle Operator Risk Indicator (CVORI) is incorrect. ​

Feedback on any potential errors or omissions in your risk rating can be sent to us by email at ​​ cvori@rsa.ie or call the CoVIS helpdesk on 091 480 981 so that we can review them and if necessary correct them.  

Please include the following information in any correspondence with us and/or have the following information to hand prior to calling: 

  • Your CVRT account number  -  you will find this number at the top right hand corner of the page when you log into your CVRT online account – it begins with “OP_” 
  • Specific details of what the error or omission is – including as much information as you can for example registration number, dates or times and so on.
